Selank 10mg is a research-grade anxiolytic heptapeptide studied for anxiety, stress resilience, GABAergic signalling and cognitive function. This 3 ml vial containing 10 mg presentation is intended for laboratory investigation of tuftsin-derived neuromodulation. Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from tuftsin, an immunomodulatory tetrapeptide, with the sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. It is studied as an anxiolytic peptide that modulates GABAergic transmission, monoamine turnover and BDNF expression without the sedation or dependence associated with benzodiazepines.
The C-terminal proline-rich extension increases stability against peptidases, which is why the peptide has a longer duration than tuftsin itself. Zozulia and colleagues (Zhurnal Nevrologii i Psikhiatrii, 2008) reported anxiolytic and anti-asthenic effects of selank in patients with generalised anxiety and neurasthenia. Subsequent preclinical work has examined its effects on GABA-A receptor expression, enkephalin degradation and BDNF in the hippocampus. Researchers use selank to model anxiety-like behaviour, stress adaptation, memory consolidation and immune-neural crosstalk.
It is also studied alongside semax for combined cognitive and anxiolytic effects. The 10 mg vial supports repeated dosing in rodent anxiety models and in-vitro work on GABAergic and monoaminergic systems. Because the peptide is short and rapidly cleared, studies should use frequent administration or measure metabolite stability in the matrix being studied. Store the lyophilised powder at -20C, protect it from light, and reconstitute with bacteriostatic water or an appropriate laboratory buffer according to institutional protocols. Prepare aliquots before freezing and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, which degrade peptide structure and reduce reproducibility.
Open questions include the relative contribution of GABAergic versus BDNF-mediated effects, the extent of blood-brain barrier penetration, and whether chronic use produces tolerance. This product is intended strictly for in-vitro and in-vivo laboratory research by qualified professionals. It is not approved for human consumption, clinical treatment or therapeutic use.
