Sermorelin 5mg is a research-grade growth-hormone-releasing hormone analog studied for pulsatile GH release, IGF-1 generation and pituitary somatotroph function. This 3 ml vial containing 5 mg presentation is intended for laboratory investigation of GHRH-receptor-mediated GH secretion. Sermorelin is a 29-amino-acid analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone, corresponding to the first 29 residues of the native 44-amino-acid peptide. It binds the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotrophs, increases cAMP and calcium, and stimulates GH release in a pulsatile pattern.
Because it acts upstream of GH, it preserves feedback regulation better than exogenous GH. Walker (Clinical Interventions in Aging, 2006) reviewed sermorelin as a physiological approach to adult GH deficiency, noting that it stimulates endogenous GH secretion rather than replacing GH directly. Earlier studies established dose-dependent GH and IGF-1 responses in healthy adults. Researchers use sermorelin to study somatotroph reserve, GH pulsatility, IGF-1 generation and ageing-related GH decline. It is also a comparator for ghrelin mimetics such as ipamorelin and for tesamorelin.
The 5 mg vial is suited to dose-response studies and short treatment protocols where repeated GH sampling is feasible. Because sermorelin is short-acting, blood should be sampled within 15-60 minutes of administration to capture the GH peak. Keep the sealed vial at -20C until use, shield it from light, and reconstitute under sterile conditions with bacteriostatic water or the buffer specified in the study protocol. Working solutions should be kept cold, aliquoted, and used within the stability window established for that peptide.
Questions include the effect of age and obesity on somatotroph responsiveness, the durability of IGF-1 increases with chronic use, and whether GHRH analogs preserve physiological pulsatility better than GH itself. Supplied exclusively for controlled laboratory research. It is not intended for human consumption, clinical use or therapeutic application.
