Description

Tesamorelin 10mg is a research-grade growth-hormone-releasing factor analog studied for visceral fat reduction, GH secretion and IGF-1 signalling. This 3 ml vial containing 10 mg presentation is intended for laboratory investigation of GHRH-receptor-driven visceral adiposity studies. Tesamorelin is a 44-amino-acid analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone with a trans-3-hexenoyl modification that increases stability against DPP-4 degradation. It binds the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotrophs, stimulates pulsatile GH release and raises IGF-1.

Its effects on visceral adipose tissue are studied because GH/IGF-1 signalling increases lipolysis and reduces central fat deposition. Falutz and colleagues (New England Journal of Medicine, 2007) reported that tesamorelin reduced visceral adipose tissue in patients with HIV-associated lipodystrophy over 26 weeks, with improvements in waist circumference and triglyceride levels. Subsequent trials confirmed durable visceral-fat effects. Researchers use tesamorelin to model visceral adiposity, GH pulsatility, lipid metabolism and body-composition change.

It is also a comparator for sermorelin and for GH itself. The 10 mg vial is suited to short treatment arms and dose-response work where visceral fat is measured by imaging or dissection. Because tesamorelin raises IGF-1, studies should monitor IGF-1, glucose and insulin alongside fat endpoints. The vial should remain frozen and protected from light until reconstitution. Use bacteriostatic water or the buffer recommended for the assay, add the diluent slowly against the vial wall, and let the powder dissolve without vigorous agitation.

Aliquot immediately to avoid repeated freeze-thaw. Questions include the mechanism of visceral-fat selectivity, the effect on lean mass and bone, and whether the drug improves metabolic outcomes independently of fat loss. Supplied exclusively for controlled laboratory research. It is not intended for human consumption, clinical use or therapeutic application.
