Exemestane, commonly known by the brand name Aromasin, is a steroidal aromatase inhibitor (AI) that reduces estrogen production by irreversibly inhibiting the aromatase enzyme. Aromatase is responsible for converting certain androgens, including testosterone and androstenedione, into estrogen.
