Anavar (oxandrolone) and Turinabol (chlorodehydromethyltestosterone) are the polite cousins of the oral world — the compounds people pick when they want to get stronger, harder, and drier without the water and the rage of dianabol. But they are not interchangeable. Here is the full breakdown.
| Property | Anavar (Oxandrolone) | Turinabol (Clostebol) |
|---|---|---|
| Androgenicity | Very low | Very low |
| Type | DHT derivative | DHT derivative |
| Typical dose (men) | 40–80 mg/day | 30–60 mg/day |
| Used by women | Common (5–20 mg) | Rare |
| Toxicity | Mild | Mild |
| Pumps | Signature full-body pumps | Good, less extreme |
Oxandrolone is famous for three things: vascular pumps that make your skin feel tight, strength that climbs week over week, and almost no estrogen or water retention. Bodybuilders use it to stay full and hard through a cut, and athletes use it for recovery and strength without weight gain. It is also the most faked oral on the market — real anavar is expensive to brew.
Turinabol is the East German secret — a mild oral that adds dry, athletic strength and a thin layer of quality muscle. It does not blow you up like anadrol and it does not pump you like anavar. Its claim to fame is the 'no water, no estrogen' strength increase that made it the drug of the Cold War Olympic program.
Anavar is the only classic AAS regularly used by women at 5–20 mg a day with acceptable virilization risk. Turinabol is essentially never dosed for women — despite the marketing, clostebol is not a female-friendly anavar substitute in most underground kitchens. If that choice is yours, treat anavar as the safest path.
Want the pumps, the full look, and the classic cutter? Anavar. Want dry strength that won't touch your waist or your libido? Turinabol. Both are mild, both are expensive for the quality you get, and both beat a dirty oral on a lean cycle. Run test underneath either one

The Fine Print
This is educational content, not medical advice, and not an instruction to use any compound. Anabolic-androgenic steroids, growth hormone, insulin, and related performance drugs are controlled substances in most jurisdictions, are not approved for human use, and carry serious cardiovascular, hormonal, psychiatric, and legal risks. Talk to a licensed doctor, run real blood work, follow your local laws, and — if you compete — your sport's anti-doping rules. Nothing here is a prescription, and no outcome is guaranteed.
