Description

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a gastric-juice protein and studied for its effects on gut mucosal integrity, tendon and ligament repair, muscle recovery and wound healing. Its proposed mechanisms include VEGF/eNOS-mediated angiogenesis, upregulation of growth-hormone receptor in fibroblasts, increased cell migration and reduced inflammatory cytokine signalling at injured tissue. Sikiric and colleagues (Current Pharmaceutical Design, 2011) reported protection in rodent models of gastric and duodenal ulceration, tendon transection, muscle crush injury and colitis, while other groups have examined angiogenesis and neuroprotection.

The 10mg presentation provides a larger analytical quantity for studies that require multiple time points or higher concentrations. Researchers use it to model gastrointestinal protection, connective-tissue repair, post-injury recovery and inflammation resolution, and to compare local versus systemic administration. Store the lyophilized powder at -20C, protect it from light, and reconstitute with bacteriostatic water according to institutional protocols.

Common research questions concern its stability after reconstitution, the relative importance of VEGF versus growth-hormone receptor signalling, and how results from rodent injury models translate to human tissue. This product is intended strictly for laboratory research by qualified professionals. It is not approved for human consumption, clinical treatment or therapeutic use. Ten milligrams supports longer protocols, multiple concentrations and repeat-aliquot designs without exhausting the vial. Musculoskeletal studies often combine histological scoring with mechanical testing, while gut studies use permeability assays and cytokine panels. Because BPC-157 is studied across so many tissue types, the route of administration and the injury model matter as much as the dose; document both so that results can be compared across laboratories.
