Epithalon (Epitalon) is the AEDG tetrapeptide used in laboratory ageing models to probe how a short peptide signal influences replicative lifespan. This 50mg vial is intended for long protocols: serial passaging, several donor lines, and parallel molecular assays drawn from one batch. The most cited in-vitro evidence comes from Khavinson and colleagues (Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2003), who reported hTERT induction, catalytic activity and measurable elongation of chromosome ends in human somatic cells; treated fibroblasts continued dividing beyond the point at which controls arrested.
Related work from the same group examined chromatin activation, pineal melatonin output and neuroendocrine markers, although independent replication remains limited. Researchers use the preparation to study senescence, oxidative stress, cell-cycle arrest and neuroendocrine ageing, and to compare AEDG with NAD+ repletion or sirtuin modulation. Endpoints commonly include hTERT expression, TRAP activity, qPCR-based chromosome-end length, beta-galactosidase staining and population doubling time.
Because the vial supports extended work, reconstitute once, aliquot immediately and avoid repeated freeze-thaw. Include untreated and vehicle controls, since some cell lines express hTERT constitutively, and monitor proliferation and karyotype because sustained catalytic activity raises theoretical immortalisation concerns. Store the lyophilised powder at -20C, protect it from light, and follow institutional handling protocols.
Open questions concern the durability of hTERT induction, whether responses differ by cell type, and how in-vitro lifespan data translate to whole-organism ageing. This product is intended strictly for laboratory research by qualified professionals. It is not approved for human consumption, clinical treatment or therapeutic use.
