HGH Fragment 176-191 is a modified peptide corresponding to amino acids 176-191 of human growth hormone, the region associated with lipolytic activity. It is studied as a fat-metabolism research peptide that stimulates lipolysis and inhibits lipogenesis without the growth-promoting, insulin-counterregulatory or IGF-1-elevating effects of full-length HGH. Preclinical work by Heffernan and colleagues (Endocrinology, 2001; International Journal of Obesity, 2001) reported increased fat oxidation and reduced body-fat accrual in obese mice, with no meaningful rise in IGF-1 or blood glucose.
Researchers use the fragment to model adipocyte lipolysis, obesity, metabolic flexibility and body-composition change, and to compare fragment-based lipolysis with full-length HGH and GLP-1 agonists. The peptide is supplied as 5mg of research-grade material in a 3ml vial. Store lyophilized powder at -20C, protect it from light, and reconstitute with bacteriostatic water according to institutional protocols. Common research questions concern its bioavailability, the duration of lipolytic effect, and how it compares with AOD-9604 supplied under a different label.
This product is intended strictly for laboratory research by qualified professionals. It is not approved for human consumption, clinical treatment or therapeutic use. The fragment is often compared directly with AOD-9604, which is a modified version of the same 176-191 sequence. Both are studied for lipolysis without the IGF-1 rise seen with full-length HGH, but they differ in stability and potency in animal models. Typical endpoints include free fatty acids, glycerol release, body-fat percentage, respiratory quotient and adipose-tissue hormone-sensitive lipase activity. The fragment is also used as a comparator in AOD-9604 studies, where both sequences target the lipolytic region of growth hormone but differ in terminal modifications that can be distinguished by mass spectrometry.
