Tirzepatide 5mg is a research-grade GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist studied for appetite suppression, insulin secretion, gastric emptying and weight loss. This 3 ml vial containing 5 mg presentation is intended for laboratory investigation of low-range dual incretin pharmacology. Tirzepatide is a single peptide that activates both the GIP and GLP-1 receptors. GLP-1 agonism increases glucose-dependent insulin secretion and slows gastric emptying, while GIP agonism complements insulin secretion and may improve adipose-tissue function.
The dual action produces greater glycaemic and weight effects than GLP-1 agonism alone in clinical studies. Frias and colleagues (New England Journal of Medicine, 2021) reported that tirzepatide produced greater reductions in HbA1c and body weight than semaglutide 1 mg in the SURPASS-2 trial. Jastreboff and colleagues (New England Journal of Medicine, 2022) later showed substantial weight loss in adults with obesity in SURMOUNT-1. Researchers use tirzepatide to model dual-incretin pharmacology, beta-cell function, appetite regulation and body-composition change.
It is a standard comparator for semaglutide, retatrutide and oral GLP-1 agonists. The 5 mg vial is suited to concentration-response work and rodent titration protocols. Because tirzepatide is long-acting, crossover designs require washout periods, and glucose should be monitored alongside weight. Store at -20C in the dark, and reconstitute only the amount needed for each experiment. Gently swirl rather than shake, keep the solution cold, and discard any aliquot that shows cloudiness or precipitation.
Questions include the relative contribution of GIP versus GLP-1 receptor activation, the mechanism of lean-mass loss, and whether dual agonism improves tolerability at equivalent efficacy. This product is intended strictly for in-vitro and in-vivo laboratory research by qualified professionals. It is not approved for human consumption, clinical treatment or therapeutic use.
